Donna was given special permission to paint in Monet's Garden, where she had this incredible place to herself. Monet and the Impressionists are a huge influence on Donna's artwork. "There is nothing better than painting plein air and capturing a moment in time on canvas. Getting the light and atmosphere into an artwork while being totally immersed in the surroundings is the most incredible experience." Donna Gibb
I love nothing better than painting live and capturing the scene and atmosphere around me. Every year I paint at Toowoomba's carnival of flowers. These artworks are for sale . Are you inspired to paint? Visit www.artclassonline.com.au and download an art lesson from the Carnival of Flowers, and lots more.

Inspired by Australian Artist Hugh Ramsay and American Artist John Singer Sargent, I captured my Daughter in my old School formal Dress from the 1980's. My Nana made this silk taffeta dress, and I was thrilled and touched to have her seamstress work recognised along side my life size artwork of Hannah. Behind her is an old Singer Sewing Machine owned by my other Grandma, my favourite lamp and the bottom of the painting I created plein air when we visited Monet's Garden and had his Lilly Pond to ourselves. The award I won was "Inter Generational thread award" There are many fine artworks made of paint and fabric for sale, so get along to the Gallery by the 3rd of September!
